A generous compensation is offered in exchange for the 14/hrs a week and includes the rent credit and salary to pay for $1400 rent on the spacious 2 bd 1 ba duplex with washer/dryer hookup and garage. In addition there are $100 in reimbursements for expenses for utilities, gasoline, and cell phone. This position includes all of the aspects of property management, some of which are:

  • Collect and deposit rent
  • Check grounds daily
  • Oversee vendors
  • Respond to maintenance requests quickly
  • Enforce property policy
  • Create and issue forms and notices
  • Rent available apartments, including posting ads on CraigsList
  • Maintain the rental office and grounds
  • Scheduling and overseeing the turnover apartments, including painting, cleaning and carpet cleaning in a timely manner

The following experience is very helpful: retail; customer service; bookkeeping; banking; multi-family maintenance; construction or remodeling experience; and general management. Computer proficiency is required. Experience with landlord/tenant law and fair housing laws are required. Previous maintenance-related experience is also required. Compensation for 28 hrs/week is $1599 rent credit on a 2 bd 1 ba apartment from which the management team will run their rental office plus a monthly salary of $890/month. SKILLS REQUIRED: interior painting, troubleshooting and minor repair of light plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general carpentry skills plus snow and ice removal in winter. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, have friendly customer service, excellent communication skills and work well without supervision as well as be a good team player. Must be well organized, have a strong work ethic, be conscientious and enjoy helping others.
Computer skills, and basic knowledge of water/sewer/fire alarms a plus.

Previous property maintenance experience is a big plus, but related experience can be considered.
